Location
Nestled in the heart of the Creuse countryside in the Limousin, our B&B is perfectly located for a weekend break or a leisurely mid-week holiday. it is also very handy if you're driving to or from Calais and looking for an overnight stop. The farmhouse is located 40 minutes north of Limoges and 10 minutes from the medieval market town of La Souterraine, and the pretty town of Bessines sur Gartempe, on the crossroads of the A20 autoroute from Paris to Toulouse, and the N145 from Montluçon to Bellac, making it ideal for a stop if you're travelling the length or breadth of France .

La Châtaigne Dorée is a 150-year old farmhouse with exposed beams and stone, fireplaces, woodburning stoves - a warm welcome awaits you!

Things to do
Wander at leisure - there are many pretty, medieval towns in the region, some just a short distance away, others, a worthwhile day trip.
Visit - local chateaux
Cycle and walk - there are numerous well-marked routes in the area.
Motorbike - lots of lovely, twisty, scenic roads for your bike. What's more, there's hardly any traffic! We can also advise you on green lanes.
Relax - we're in a tiny hamlet of around a dozen people, so traffic jams (and noise) are virtually unknown.
